A Memorial to My Aborted Child

My child, you were with me
so very short a time.
I took your life away from you,
to me it was no crime.
But God above spoke to my heart 
and told me how it hurt
to see a precious child of His
be treated like mere dirt.


I've asked the Lord, "Forgive my sin,"
and that He's sure to do;
Yet, here I am after the fact,
there's so little I can do.
But, when I hear the people shout 
and say, "We want a choice,"
I'll look to God, I'll say a prayer,
and thank Him for my voice.
